Tips while installing new firewall.

1. While installing firewall, the windows default firewall should be turned off..

STep by Step(On XP):

Start

->

Control Panel

->

Windows Security Center

->

Windows Firewall

Select

Off.

2. Never Use two firewall together. You should remove previous firewall before installing new one

3. If your external device (Such as Wired Router, Wireless Router or a Broadband Gateway) have build-in firewall then enable it..

4. After installing the firewall, do check vendor updates.

5. Test your Firewall configuration, that is it really protecting you or not.
